INNOVA-NATION is an educational laboratory that aims to inspire and train the next generation of entrepreneurs, innovators and leaders in sustainability.

Our mission

provide children ages 8 to 18 with hands-on learning experiences that foster their creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, and encourage them to pursue their passions and ideas.

Through our programs, workshops, and events,we seek to instill a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship in young minds, and equip them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to turn their ideas into reality.

 

We also strive to promote sustainability and care for the environment as core values, and we encourage children to think about the impact of their actions on the planet and future generations.

AUGUST – NOVEMBER 2018

Entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability course: program focused on leadership development and social entrepreneurship skills. The course is the preparation for students to participate in the first intercollegiate entrepreneurship contest INNOVA-NATION PITCH CHALLENGE in November 2018, during Global Entrepreneurship Week. The teams received mentoring and coaching from entrepreneurs.parte de emprendedores.

NOVEMBER 2018

INNOVA-NATION FEST: the first entrepreneurship and innovation festival for girls, boys and young people in Panama, created to inspire the new generation of entrepreneurs to innovate, encourage their creativity and support the sustainable development of Panama and the world. Interactive activity zones for leadership, STEAM, sustainability, technology, and entrepreneurship were developed. Festival area: 350 m2. Stake:
600 people. Allies and main sponsors: Dell, UNDP, Franklin Covey, Smithsonian, Engineering for Kids, Copa Airlines.

INNOVA-NATION PITCH CHALLENGE:
Intercollegiate contest in which students from various schools devised their own innovative products or services that positively support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda adopted by the UN Member States in 2015. Participation: 8 teams of 3 -4 students. Dell jury, Copa Airlines, UNDP and Panamanian entrepreneur.

INNOVA-NATION + Engineering for Kids Summer Program. course in which entrepreneurship skills were integrated with STEM subjects, apart from visiting different sites of the Panamanian entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Boston Ecosystem Immersion Program: participation of the winners of the INNOVA-NATION PITCH CHALLENGE 2018 in a cultural exchange program in Boston.

JULY - AUGUST 2019

Entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainability course: program focused on leadership development and social entrepreneurship skills. The course is the preparation for students to participate in the first intercollegiate entrepreneurship contest INNOVA-PITCH CHALLENGE in November 2019, during the Global Week of Entrepreneurship. The teams received mentoring and coaching from entrepreneurs and professionals.

SEPTEMBER 2019

Participation in the global event «Act 4 SDGS»: matinee with the movie Underwater Dreams, in collaboration with 50 Eggs Office (Boston) and Cinepolis Panama, which was sponsored by the Bezos Foundation and promoted by President Barack Obama. Relevant topics such as diversity, the capacity for creativity, the importance of STEM subjects in training were brought to the discussion of the students.

NOVEMBER 2019

INNOVA-NATION FEST: is the first entrepreneurship and innovation festival for girls, boys and young people in Panama, created to inspire the new generation of entrepreneurs to innovate, encourage their creativity and support the sustainable development of Panama and the world. This 2-day event was part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week 2019, as one of the 35,000 events registered on said platform worldwide. Interactive activity zones for leadership, STEAM, sustainability, technology, entrepreneurship, Smart cities, and continuing education workshops were developed. Festival area: 1000 m2 Main partners and sponsors: Banistmo, Dell, PNUD, Franklin Covey, Smithsonian, Engineering for Kids, Copa Airlines.

«Innovation Expedition»: summer program designed to learn about and visit the different entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems in Panama. The participants learned about the City of Knowledge, the City of Knowledge Innovation Center and sustainability programs, Flying Labs (UTP, a project financed by the IDB Lab), Panama Pacifico with Dell’s Digital Young Futures program, strengths workshop and creativity.

MENTORING program for teams competing in the INNOVA-NATION PITCH CHALLENGE. Creative stage of 8 student teams that devised their own products or services from sustainability. They received 8 hours of mentoring and 8 hours of academic support for the creation of their ideas, 3-minute pitch, prototypes and minimum viable products.

Contest «Futurizing: Imagine your City in 100 years»: call for children and young people from the age of 8, to deliver conceptual videos about their idea of a modern, prosperous and sustainable city of the future. We exhibited 16 videos of children and young people, which were chosen based on their creativity and ingenuity.

FEBRUARY 2021

INNOVA-NATION PROGRAM + PLAY ENERGY ENEL GREEN POWER. Virtual program developed especially for 8-10 year old students belonging to 14 public schools in the Chiriquí and Coclé area with a focus on creativity, sustainability and leadership. The INNOVA-NATION program is the first phase of this Program, and its objective is to prepare them to create projects for their communities that will later be integrated into ESRI platforms. The projects will be evaluated by a jury, who will verify their feasibility in order to develop them as an improvement to their communities. Collaboration with ENEL GREEN POWER AND ESRI.

Internship at Leafsinc for the winners of INNOVA-NATION 2021. In this internship, the young people rotated in the different departments of a venture with a social and environmental impact, generating value and experiences.
